Q: What is the primary reason that physicians should consider partnering with us?: A: First and foremost, it’s that our senior management team is the most experienced in the country in the development and management of physician-partnered hospitals. We have a long and successful track record of having done so. Developing and managing hospitals is significantly more complicated than developing and managing surgery centers, and it takes an experienced team such as ours that has a background in the hospital business, not the surgery center business. Q: What are the motivating factors for physicians to consider becoming partners in a hospital project?: A: While the factors vary by physician, the motivating factors are typically as follows: desire to have control over the hospital that they practice in; desire to increase the efficiency of their practice by being a partner in a hospital; potential offset to declining professional reimbursements; and desire to improve clinical outcomes for their patients. Q: Are these full service hospitals? A: Yes, we license our hospitals as general acute care hospitals. We have a complete staff of other specialists at each hospital that can treat the multi-disciplinary needs of our patients. Q: What ancillary services are provided within the hospital? A: Our services will typically include an emergency room, ICU, pharmacy, laboratory, inpatient rehabilitation, and a full range of imaging modalities, including MRI and CT. Q: Who owns and manages the hospitals? A: We partner with local physicians who own and manage the hospitals with us. The physicians are actively involved in the design of the hospital, selection of equipment, selection of senior staff members at the hospital, selection of supplies, development of clinical protocols, marketing programs, and outreach programs. Q: Do existing hospitals ever participate in our projects? A: From time to time, we will enter into three-way ventures, depending upon the local circumstances. |
